I try to write about three times per week. Most of it is pretty good and will probably help you grow your business. If it doesn't, then I probably can't help you.

You can use a traditional RSS Feedreader with this fancy-dancy link. I think this approach is harder but if you want to do it the hard way, who am I to say otherwise?

Advertising Problem

Advertising doesn't work if you are stupid.

I thought this was pretty funny as a stand alone ad. My furniture won't know the difference but my pocket book and their revenue would certainly know. Then, I decided to click on the ad and see where it took me and I literally laughed out loud.

13 Lucky Tips to a Better Job Interview

Right now, it’s a little hard for some people to get a job (hello pot, you’re black). It’s made harder now partly because of the economy but more so, in my opinion, because we are a bit out of practice. These are my top 12 interview wishes.

Respect Goes Both Ways

I remember, even as a 16 year old, that I wasn’t going to give anyone respect because it was demanded. "No amount of authority can demand respect. Respect must be earned. And no leader can lead without first being respected."

What's your primary objective?

I defy you to point to any one objective that Washington is focused on. I'm talking about a prime directive that everyone looks to when a new program or a new idea is proposed and asks, "How does this thing help us to meet our primary objective."

I Tweet There I Consult

I can’t even begin to say how tired I am of everyone that thinks they know social media and how they can help everybody succeed by being social. It is to the point that anyone with a Twitter account and a pulse claims to be a social media expert.

Why

The Two Most Important Questions

We get inundated with questions every day. When I go to buy a car, I get the questions about finance (how much can you afford) and I get the questions about my favorite features? But I don't get asked the questions that really matter.

Walt Disney Trivia

I'm writing a fun little story about Walt Disney and Disneyland. There as some minor details that I just don't know. So, I have some questions that I need answered to put in my book. I would love comments here to answer these questions.

Business Before Technology

When thinking about running your business, you have to be very careful to not get caught up in the newest technology of the day and focus on your business. Don’t let technology get in the way. Watch my video from KTVB to understand better.

Are you preaching or teaching?

Do you find yourself teaching your audience or preaching to them? Imagine if you could pattern your speaking style after a great preacher? Think about what that do and say to inspire? How many slides does their PowerPoint deck have?

What America Really Is

One of the challenges we have today is remembering. Remembering the roots of our country. Too many people want to take away our heritage. They want to add meaning or take away meaning from who we are. We need to remember to whom we owe everything.

Where's the imagination?

So often we are afraid to even talk about what we are thinking because we are afraid that people may not like what we have to say. Our creativity is stifled far too often. We are told too often that there is only one way to solve a problem.

Heroes and Villains

Everything has an opposite. Light-Dark. Up-Down. Good-Bad. etc. So, in order to have a hero, you have to have a villain. The villain causes the harm and the hero fixes it... usually at risk of great personal physical, political or emotional harm.

What's important?

Sometimes we worry about things that we shouldn't worry about it and we ignore the important things. Commonly this is known as picking your battles. For as often as you hear "pick your battles," no one really ever says what that really means.

It's a Dog's Life

At one point, growing up, we had two dogs, a cat, a bunch of rabbits, a horse, four ponies, two birds and a sheep named boots. Now, we are back in the high life with our new friend, Boone.

Start Of Book

Every Idea Has a Start

I've never written a book before. I've written a lot, however. From my days in school writing 1000s of words each week to composing content for multiple blogs and writing content for many Web sites, I have written a lot.

Facebook No No

Facebook No Nos

As much as I hate self-appointed social media cops, there is one area in social media that, when people are stupid, I can't sit idly by and do nothing. I have to speak up and help them correct the issue.

What do you want to do?

The challenge most CEOs, and most people for that matter, have is they have a certain skill and desire set that don't necessarily line up with requirements of the job. Too often, we focus on doing the things we aren't necessarily good at.

An Author in the Making

It all started when I wanted to teach a class on eCommerce. Yeah, I know that the e stands for electronic, but that doesn't mean you call it 'electronic' commerce. The real problem is that the author hasn't the credentials to talk about the subject.

Sell More Stuff Online

“Sales is a numbers game… you just need to talk to more people and you’ll sell more stuff.” How stupid is that? I talk to 100 people in 8 hours per day and want to double my sales then the only way I could do that would be to work 16 hours per day.
